Crowns & Bridges

When a tooth is severely damaged, it’s all you can think about. You’re always aware of it when you’re eating, smiling, or talking. So, let’s get together and take care of it! The sooner we can fix it with a crown, the more likely it is that your tooth can be saved!

If you’ve lost a tooth, a dental bridge can place a new crown in its place without needing the long process of a dental implant. Relatively quickly, you’ll have a new, customized tooth that will let you chew and smile naturally.

We work hard to create your crowns and bridges with a customized color that will look natural in your smile. They’ll also function just like your original teeth, letting your chew normally, get the nutrition you need, and smile widely again.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A crown actually covers the top and sides of a tooth. It protects a cracked or broken tooth from further harm and from bacteria. It also creates an effective new chewing surface. Crowns are commonly placed for these reasons:

  • To finish a root canal or filling.
  • To hold a tooth together when it has been damaged in an accident.
  • To support a dental bridge.
  • To complete the implant dentistry process.
  • To cosmetically improve a tooth by covering stains and other problems.

We scan your teeth with digital equipment and create impressions in our computer system—all without putting messy impression material in your mouth. We electronically send the impressions to a laboratory that uses time-tested methods to create your customized dental crown.

Once we receive your crowns, we’ll bring you back in to place them and make sure they look natural with your other teeth.

What Is a Dental Bridge?

Dental bridges hold a crown in a dental appliance, instead of bonding the crown to your existing tooth. Why? It’s used when your tooth is already missing or has to be extracted. We’ll place crowns on the teeth on both sides of the gap to anchor the bridge.

The bridge itself often just looks like three teeth in a row! When we bond it in place, your friends and family won’t even notice that it’s there! They’ll just see that your smile has been restored to its beautiful, natural state again.
